Our
Story

The Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) Houston Lodge has presented the Miss Chinatown Houston Scholarship Pageant for over 50 years. The first Miss Chinatown Houston Pageant was part of a citywide picnic on August 15, 1971 at Sylvan Beach in La Porte, Texas.

Over the years, the pageant has grown into a highly respected event and has earned the reputation of equipping young Chinese-American women with the interpersonal skills, confidence, and talent to excel as well as the scholarship support to pursue higher education.

Today, the pageant is one of the highlight Gala events in the Houston community.

The Miss Chinatown Houston contestants serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Chinese-American and broader community and serve as role models for the next generation. Additionally, Miss Chinatown Houston participates in the Miss Chinatown USA pageant in San Francisco, representing Houston and sponsored by the C.A.C.A. Houston Lodge.
