Chinatown Beats
About Chinatown Beats
Chinatown Beats is a Houston-based performing arts organization rooted in community, culture, and rhythm. Originally founded in 1996 by a group of friends in the Chinese American Citizens Alliance Youth Club—alongside Miss Chinatown Houston 1994, Tammy Gee—Chinatown Beats made its mark through powerful, high-energy dance performances that lit up the Miss Chinatown Houston pageants from 1996 to 2012.

Now proudly revived by alumni Kitty So and Kimberly Tran, who danced with the original crew in 2000, Chinatown Beats is back with a renewed mission: to promote and nurture the performing arts within the young generations of Houston's Chinese American community. Chinatown Beats provides youth with opportunities to perform, connect, and celebrate cultural expression—both on stage and beyond.
